Disability Support Worker/Admin

We are seeking a Disability Support Worker/Admin person to join us in assisting Participants on shift and also do some Admin tasks for us in the office at Holland Park when required, as listed below:

Who we are:

Brain Injury Care and Supports provide a range of support services to participants with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) as well as various types of Disability, we are growing and employing Support Workers who are able to work alongside participants with ABI and varying mental/physical health conditions in a client centric manner.

This exciting and unique opportunity does not come around often; you will be providing support in our skills development program, employment assistance, in home support and community participation, and will gain exposure to Admin tasks while enhancing your personal growth and development.

About the Role:

You will need to have an understanding of Acquired Brain injury, invisible disabilities and have a background in mental health/physical disability or a willingness to be trained

Provide care to people living with disability who may need extra support or supervision in their home, the community or residential establishments like Specialist Disability Accommodation.

Assist with outings by providing support to plan excursions and transport people to and from their home. This helps to facilitate participation in the community and social activities.

Assist with preparing meals and other domestic tasks like cleaning, grocery shopping and gardening.

Assist with finding and maintaining employment, offer skills development support at our hub as required (arts and crafts and various programs-training provided)

Offering Advocacy support, doing record keeping and reporting tasks, inhouse mandatory online training, adhere to WHS requirements.

Assisting with Admin tasks in the office -training provided

Shifts Available:

Shift days and times differ according to requirements (will be discussed should you be shortlisted but feel free to email prior to applying)

Current shifts are located in Ipswich/ Holland Park/ Carindale/ Logan and surrounds as well as Northside locations

Requirements:

• Experience in ABI/Mental Health/Physical disabilities ideal- not essential as training will be provided
• Certificate III or IV ideal -not essential at time of application
• Yellow Card / NDIS Worker Clearance
• Blue card or willingness to obtain
• Mandatory NDIS training module
• Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
• Australian Driver's License
• Roadworthy and insured vehicle
