About the role:
This role supports Chrysos Corporation in implementing, managing, and monitoring our HSE management system and activities at our global facilities and PhotonAssay deployment sites. The role is also directly responsible for ensuring measurable performance in safety operations by maintaining compliance, closing out safety risks, and enhancing critical risk management systems.
What you will do:
HSE Systems, Risk Management, and Compliance
- Maintain and continuously improve Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) systems and strategies, including all IT-based platforms such as Donesafe.
- Implement and support the Critical Risk Management Program, including identifying, documenting, and integrating controls for all critical risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative obligations across jurisdictions and lead best-practice safety initiatives.
- Identify and assess safety risks across Chrysos workplaces and deployments, and contribute to the ongoing review and enhancement of HSE policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on HSE performance indicators to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and execute internal HSE audits in accordance with Chrysos Corporation's safety policies and scheduled audit programs.
- Ensure all sites and deployments are audit-ready and meet the requirements of internal and external safety standards.
Safety Culture, Contractor Oversight, and Operational Support
- Proactively foster and enhance a strong safety culture across all teams and levels of the organization.
- Manage contractor compliance and engagement, ensuring 100% follow-up on non-compliant contractors in Donesafe within 10 business days.
Assist with incident investigations, root cause analyses, and development of effective remedial and preventative actions.
Create and manage supplementary safety-related materials, such as posters, letters, translated documentation, and guidance resources.
- Support day-to-day safety operations through engagement with cross-functional teams and provision of technical advice and resources.
- Independently drive assigned safety actions to closure with minimal oversight, ensuring timely completion and alignment with agreed safety targets.
- Perform other safety-related duties as required by the Safety Manager or reasonably agreed to support evolving business and safety needs.
Contribution and Collaboration
- Respond to internal team safety support requests.
- Respond of customer and regulatory compliance queries.
- Coach site managers and leaders on incident response, safety protocols, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training on safety and injury management, regulatory changes, and risk control measures.
- Develop and distribute safety documentation, training materials, posters, communications, and safety alerts.
- Promote cross-site knowledge sharing and drive a collaborative safety-first culture.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders through consultation, and development of Chrysos Corporation HSE training programs.
Who you are:
Essential
- Minimum WHS qualification
Proven experience in HSE roles with incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety management tools.
Track record in driving measurable safety improvements and meeting KPI targets.
Demonstrates strong follow-through, with the ability to independently progress actions to closure while maintaining high standards and alignment with team objectives.
- Competency in safety auditing and compliance monitoring.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to travel to remote mine sites and international locations.
Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French /Spanish/Chinese is an asset
Desirable
- Experience with the mining industry and mine-site operations
Willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks
Familiarity with Donesafe and digital safety platforms.
Experience developing critical risk procedures and chemical safety registers.
Experience in ISO accreditation is advantageous
