Description

We are currently recruiting a permanent Distributed Energy Resources "DER" Integration Manager to join our Assets and Digital division. This role can be based anywhere within our operational footprint  with the ability work from home in a hybrid work environment.

About the role 

As the DER Integration Manager within the Distribution System Operator (DSO) team, you will lead the delivery of complex technology and business change projects to enable high penetration of consumer energy resources and flexible loads. You will be responsible for developing and continuously improving Essential Energy's capabilities in dynamic connections, operating envelopes, and interoperability. Your work will ensure stakeholders have confidence in our future direction and that DER integration delivers positive customer and network outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering DER integration initiatives that build Essential Energy's capabilities over the short, medium and long term.

  • Developing economic assessments and business cases for DER integration options, clearly articulating customer and business value.

  • Delivering complex technology and business change projects to maximise network utilisation and ensuring DER does not adversely impact reliability.

  • Managing systems and processes across the full DER lifecycle, including enquiry, application, approvals, installation, registration, commissioning, operation, compliance, and deregistration.

  • Fostering a culture of innovation by staying abreast of local and international energy industry developments and applying agile implementation methods.

  • Providing subject matter expertise into connections and future networks decisions to support policy positions that benefit Essential Energy and its customers.

  • Defining business requirements for technologies and processes to uplift DER compliance management.

  • Building and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to enable effective asset management and commercial decisions.

You are a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in DER integration and a passion for innovation. You bring a collaborative mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Your ability to translate technical requirements into business outcomes and lead cross-functional teams makes you a key enabler of Essential Energy's energy transition.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Information Technology
