Role Overview

We're looking for a
Senior AI Engineer
with strong experience in
agentic workflows, intelligent crawlers and full-stack engineering
to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of applied AI, data automation and product engineering - helping us build an agentic booking layer that can autonomously discover, interact with and optimise access to sporting infrastructure across Australia.

You'll design and ship production-ready AI systems, from backend crawlers and booking agents to user-facing features built in React. This is a chance to own critical systems that will scale nationally and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement
    agentic AI systems
    that can autonomously search, extract and act on real-time booking data across multiple platforms
  • Build and optimise
    web crawlers / scrapers
    (Python, Playwright, Crawlee or similar) for sports and community infrastructure sites
  • Develop and maintain scalable
    backend services
    ) with API integrations to third-party booking systems
  • Contribute to
    frontend applications
    in
    React/JavaScript
    , delivering clean, responsive and intuitive user experiences
  • Apply
    machine learning / NLP
    where needed to classify venues, detect features and automate booking workflows
  • Work closely with product, design and growth teams to integrate AI into customer-facing experiences
  • Drive best practice in software development, testing and deployment in a fast-moving startup environment

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in
    Python
    (AI/ML frameworks, web automation, data pipelines)
  • Proven experience with
    agentic frameworks
    or orchestration tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex, n8n, custom agents)
  • Hands-on experience building
    web crawlers, scrapers or bots
    for dynamic sites (Playwright, Puppeteer, Crawlee, BeautifulSoup, etc.)
  • Solid skills in
    React, JavaScript/TypeScript
    and modern frontend development practices
  • Experience with
    cloud platforms
    (GCP, AWS or similar) and API integrations
  • Background in
    machine learning, NLP or neural networks
    is highly desirable
  • Track record of shipping production software in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Bonus: experience in
    sport, fitness or community platforms
