UNE Life Pty Ltd is a wholly owned, not-for-profit entity of the University of New England (UNE), independently governed by a Board of Directors and led by a Chief Executive Officer. Put simply, we are a company that is also part of the University family.

UNE Life Pty Ltd is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified and experienced regional resident interested in a non-executive Board member role. This person will need to have exceptional governance experience in leading an organisation with multiple service offerings, and acute finance and business acumen. The proposed initial term will be a three-year appointment.

UNE Life is governed by an independent Board of Directors and supports the vision and strategy of the University of New England. Whilst UNE Life remains dedicated to enhancing the experience of UNE's students, staff, and the wider New England community, we operate independently with a wide range of commercial offerings delivering exceptional and people-focused services.

About the role

UNE Life has an active Board and a dedicated management team which results in the ongoing successful delivery of services and event management to the University and New England regional community. There is potential for growth and the Board is seeking nominations from people with regional experience who are passionate about the University of New England and the value of higher education generally, who is high standing in the community, has experience and skills in finance, and who will contribute to the functions of UNE Life Board. UNE Alumni meeting these criteria are encouraged to apply.

There are typically five (5) Board meetings held each year, and Directors can generally expect to travel to Armidale at least once or twice a year. The NED role is a paid position with the amount to be determined by the Board. Travel, accommodation and other pre-approved expenditure relating to Board meeting attendance will be paid for by UNE Life. There are currently four Directors and a Company Secretary.
