About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Painter to join our workshop team. The role involves assessing, repairing, and realigning damaged vehicle bodies and frames using both traditional and advanced techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability, an eye for detail, and the motivation to maintain our high repair standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparing surfaces of vehicles by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas before painting.
  • Mixing and matching paint colours to achieve accurate finishes using digital or manual systems.
  • Applying primers, base coats, clear coats, and protective finishes using spray guns and other refinishing tools.
  • Removing rough spots and cleaning surfaces prior to paint application.
  • Inspecting and correcting paint surfaces to ensure an even finish, colour consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Polishing and buffing painted surfaces to achieve a uniform, high-gloss finish.
  • Conducting minor touch-ups and paint rectification as required.
  • Maintaining spray booths, painting equipment, and work area in clean and safe condition.
  • Following all workplace safety, health, and environmental procedures.
  • Liaising with panel beaters and estimators to ensure workflow efficiency and job accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time experience as a Vehicle Painter or Automotive Spray Painter.
  • Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (or equivalent trade qualification).
  • Sound knowledge of modern automotive paint systems such as PPG, Glasurit, or Spies Hecker.
  • Strong attention to detail, colour accuracy, and finishing quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year + Superannuation
