About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our workshop team. The role involves assessing, repairing, and realigning damaged vehicle bodies and frames using both traditional and advanced techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability, an eye for detail, and the motivation to maintain our high repair standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Examine damaged vehicle panels and frames to determine the extent of structural or cosmetic damage.
- Remove, repair, and replace damaged sections using welding, pulling, or straightening equipment.
- Realign chassis and body frames using jigs, clamps, and measuring systems to manufacturer specifications.
- Repair dents, creases, and other surface defects through filling, sanding, and smoothing techniques.
- Fit and align replacement panels, doors, bonnets, and guards ensuring proper shape and clearances.
- Weld or bond panels and structural components using MIG or spot welding equipment.
- Work closely with painters to prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing.
- Conduct final quality checks to confirm repairs meet safety and appearance standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace while following all OHS procedures.
- Contribute to a collaborative workshop culture focused on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 3 years' full-time experience as a qualified Panel Beater.
- Relevant trade qualification - Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of body repair methods, materials, and welding/fitting techniques.
- Ability to interpret repair estimates and follow technical drawings or body alignment data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Current driver's license preferred.
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year + Superannuation
