Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia.

The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise.

Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.

This is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria's history, shaping Melbourne and Victoria for future generations.

About the Role:

As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and monitoring Safety and Health Management systems, strategies, and initiatives across the construction project.

You'll work closely with the Health and Safety Managers and site teams to provide clear guidance and practical support, helping to embed a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and manage safety risks; promote safe work practices
  • Lead compliance with safety legislation and standards
  • Foster open communication and team support
  • Partner with leadership to deliver targeted safety programs
  • Drive a strong, consistent safety culture across the project
  • Lead continuous improvement and share lessons learned
  • Provide expert safety advice to stakeholders and contractors
  • Build strong relationships to support safety outcomes
  • Analyse safety data and deliver timely reports
  • Develop and lead a high-performing safety team
  • Maintain site presence and stakeholder engagement

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation and systems
  • Proven experience leading safety initiatives on large-scale projects
  • Skilled in risk management, incident investigation, and compliance monitoring
  • Ability to influence and embed a positive safety culture
  • Proficient in data analysis and safety reporting
  • Capable of developing and delivering safety programs and training
  • High competency in digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, safety software)
  • Collaborative mindset with leadership capability

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Safety Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Safety and Health experience in Construction and/or heavy industry and high-risk workplaces
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Damstra, Aconex, and Civillo permitting systems

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong resource management and process implementation skills
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Clear and professional written communication
  • Experience delivering training and presentations (Cert IV TAE)
  • Skilled in ICAM investigations and incident analysis
