This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
Job Description
At Montu, we're transforming access to alternative medicine and raising the standard of patient care across Australia. To achieve this, our Risk & Compliance team plays a pivotal role in ensuring we meet our obligations, uphold the highest standards of integrity, and foster a culture of accountability across the business.
We're now seeking a Head of Privacy and AI Enablement to join the leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager of Risk & Compliance, this is a newly created, future-focused role at the intersection of privacy, compliance, and responsible AI. You'll lead a team to strengthen Montu's privacy and AI frameworks, enable innovation, and ensure we navigate emerging risks with confidence.
What you'll do
- Set the direction: Develop and execute Montu's privacy and AI strategy, balancing innovation with compliance and responsible AI principles.
- Advise at the highest level: Provide expert guidance to the General Manager, Executive Team, and governance committees on privacy and AI risks, trends, and regulations.
- Shape frameworks & policies: Build, implement, and continuously improve privacy and AI compliance frameworks, policies, and training programs.
- Manage risk proactively: Oversee privacy and AI impact assessments, monitoring programs, incident response, and assurance activities.
- Engage stakeholders: Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, regulators, and external stakeholders to embed trust, transparency, and privacy-preserving technologies.
- Lead people & culture: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, setting clear OKRs and KPIs while promoting diversity, inclusion, and professional growth.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
- 10+ years' experience in senior compliance roles within large, regulated industries.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing privacy and AI programs from the ground up.
- A strong background that bridges legal/compliance and technology.
- Deep knowledge of privacy, health, and related legislation, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
- Leadership experience with the ability to coach, inspire, and develop teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to influence across functions and levels of the business.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts for senior leaders and regulators alike.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, risk, compliance, or related disciplines.
Additional Information
You'll be joining a high-performing, fast-paced team where your work drives meaningful impact in a leading tech company at the intersection of healthcare. We take pride in our driven and results-focused culture, where ambitious individuals can push the boundaries of innovation and contribute to better outcomes for Australians.
