ASIC's Information Technology group is seeking a skilled Cyber Assurance Advisor to join their IT Cloud Services team to support ASIC's Cloud infrastructure and critical applications.

• Salary starting from $140,180 (depending on experience % superannuation

The team

The Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) group drives transformational change and delivers essential technology services across ASIC. It encompasses Information Technology, Cyber Security, Data Analytics and AI, Digital, the Portfolio Office and Registry Connect, ASIC's business register modernisation initiative.

DD&T leads major technology programs focused on data and analytics, cloud computing, mobility, and application modernisation. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, the group ensures ASIC remains at the forefront of regulatory innovation and operational excellence.

The role

The AWS Cloud Engineer is responsible for architecting, deploying and maintaining secure, scalable and resilient AWS infrastructure. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimise cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.

More specifically, you will:

• Design and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure in line with cloud architecture best practices.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Configure and manage networking components including VPCs, subnets, peering, NAT, and Transit Gateway.
• Automate provisioning, deployment, and monitoring using CI/CD pipelines, Lambda, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
• Collaborate with application teams to containerize workloads using ECS, EKS, or Fargate.
• Implement observability solutions with CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and Grafana.
• Partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to define infrastructure requirements and deliver solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
• Contribute to the evolution of DevOps practices and engineering standards.

About you

As the ideal candidate for the AWS Cloud Engineer role, you will be a technically proficient and solutions-oriented professional with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure and cloud-native technologies. You will also possess a strong foundation in cloud architecture, automation and DevOps practices along with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

In addition, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Skilled in DevOps toolchains including Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps.
• Solid understanding of serverless and event-driven architectures.
• AWS Associate or Professional certification preferred.
