We are seeking a seasoned AWS Cloud Engineer to contribute to a critical government initiative. This contract role offers a unique blend of challenge and stability, providing the opportunity to make a significant impact in a secure environment.

About the Role
  • As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering expertise across the AWS Cloud Platform, implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud operations tooling, monitoring, logging, and maintaining alerting systems to ensure platform reliability, troubleshooting, optimising, and managing cloud workloads, including backup and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical leadership and expertise in cloud engineering, driving the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions.
  • Implement and manage IaC and cloud operations tooling to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to guarantee platform reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud initiatives, driving business outcomes through effective collaboration and communication.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer in enterprise environments, with a strong background in IaC and automation tooling.
  • Expertise in monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting cloud workloads, with a focus on ensuring platform reliability and performance.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with the ability to produce high-quality technical operations documentation.
  • NV1 clearance or higher – essential.

A highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong background in IAC is required to work on a cloud transformation project.
