We're partnering with a well-established civil contractor to support the delivery of a major sewerage treatment plant upgrade in Rockhampton. This is a 6-month contract role with strong potential for extension, as the project moves from construction into the commissioning phase.

They're looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer with strong commissioning experience, especially around pumps, clarifiers, SCADA systems, and switchboards. If you've worked on sewerage or water treatment plants and enjoy leading delivery on the ground, this could be the ideal opportunity.

The Opportunity:

  • Lead commissioning of pumps, clarifiers, and process mechanical systems
  • Oversee SCADA integration, telemetry, and electrical control system commissioning
  • Work closely with the electrical team on switchboards and controls
  • Support and guide junior project engineers on site
  • Collaborate with a civil contractor experienced in pump stations, rising mains, and pipelines
  • 6-month contract with likely extension based on project progress
  • Monday to Friday roster

What You'll Bring:

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering background
  • Previous experience on water or sewerage treatment plant projects
  • Proven track record in commissioning, particularly pumps and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of SCADA, telemetry, switchboards, and electrical control systems
  • Ability to work independently and lead commissioning phases
  • Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and working collaboratively
