About the role
The Electrical Apprentice will assist in and learn how to install, maintain, repair, test and commission electrical and electronic equipment and systems so that asset performance and reliability objectives are achieved. Electricians may also work on electrical transmission and distribution equipment.
The employee will assist in and learn how to achieve improvement in the operations and efficiency of networks to meet customer expectations and regulatory standards in the provision of water and recycled water services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with electrical installations, fault finding, and repairs
- Read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications
- Support the maintenance of water and recycled water assets
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Use digital tools to record maintenance activities
- Work collaboratively with depot teams across the region
- Uphold EGW's values and contribute to a positive team culture
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Maintain accurate records and handle queries with confidentiality

* This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 2 position, ($56,902.59 per annum)

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Completion of Year 11 secondary education or equivalent.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills to become a productive team member in the operations and maintenance of water and recycled water assets.
- Experience/interest in electronics, and electrical processes.
- Ability to use and operate a computer/tablet.
- Ability to work in a team to achieve outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills combined with good verbal and writing skills.
- Good time management and problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude towards personal development including being accountable, innovative, passionate and united to achieve corporate objectives.
