About The Services
Yirra Dandjoo, delivered by Centrecare in partnership with the Waalitj Foundation, provides culturally appropriate psychosocial, family and peer support to vulnerable children and young people with serious mental health and neurodevelopmental issues who are in contact with, or are at-risk of contact with, the justice system. Holistic case management support is provided to children, young people and their families both in the community and in detention. The overall goal is to reduce the risk of reoffending in the context of mental illness in consultation and collaboration with other service providers, including the Child Adolescent Forensic Service (CAFS).
The Role
The Team Leader 50D role provides day-to-day clinical and cultural support to a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary team of Centrecare and Waalitj Foundation staff, ensuring high quality service delivery consistent with Centrecare's Therapeutic Framework. The position is full time hours and based in Northbridge.
We are seeking someone who is deeply committed to their work and driven to support both staff and clients. The ideal candidate will bring a therapeutic, evidence-based approach to practice, along with experience supporting Aboriginal children, young people, and their families experiencing mental health challenges and involvement in, or risk of, serious offending. Leadership and staff supervision experience are essential.
A Few Specifics
- Provide clinical and cultural support to staff on complex cases.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Draft reports, review statistics, and contribute to management board reports.
- Provide regular management supervision with staff and group case management reviews.
- Provide training to staff on internal processes.
- Represent the program at stakeholder and funding meetings.
What We Are Looking For
We are interested in a strong leader and communicator with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with Senior Management on long term goals. Someone that can mentors staff, build team capability, and promote a solutions-focused mindset across the team.
To Be Successful, You Will Need
- Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work/Sciences, Justice, or a related field.
- Experience working with young people with complex needs, including intake, assessment, and case management.
- Understanding of culturally appropriate, strength-based service delivery approaches.
- In-depth understanding of community services and trauma-informed practice.
- Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering culturally safe, high-quality services.
- Strong skills in report writing, case coordination, and tender writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a Justice Clearance via a National Criminal History Record Check.
