Assessor, Fair Jobs Code
- Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role: until 9 February 2026
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Assessor, Fair Jobs Code will assist in processing applications made under Victoria's Fair Jobs Code. The role reports to the Manager, Assessments and contributes to authoritative advice on the operations of the Fair Jobs Code to the Manager and the Fair Jobs Code Unit in the Department of Jobs, Skills Industry and Regions. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team and with partners across and external to the department to support the implementation of the Fair Jobs Code.
The responsibilities of the Assessor, Fair Jobs Code will include:
- Assessing applications for a Fair Jobs Code pre-assessment certificate from suppliers and businesses and providing recommendations regarding applications to the Manager, Assessments.
- Monitor and interpret developments in employment law legislation to inform assessment processes, application recommendations and senior management.
- Assist the Manager, Assessments with the ongoing maintenance, enhancement and testing of the Fair Jobs Code pre-assessment certificate portal and Salesforce based CRM.
The Team
The position of Assessor, Fair Jobs Code forms a part of the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
The Industry, Trade and Investment group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. The position is within the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent Branch which is responsible for shaping and ensuring the delivery of the Victorian Government's industry development agenda.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Technical Knowledge & Skills: Ability to make sound and timely decisions based on a consideration of facts and evidence, including a sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, policies and processes.
- Expertise: Sound knowledge of employment legislation and regulations and experience in applying employment law to inform assessment processes and application recommendations and able to give authoritative advice to senior management.
- IT systems: Experience in maintaining, enhancing and testing online application portals and Salesforce based CRMs. Ability to conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure system functionality and usability.
