Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Canva Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year
Company Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

About Content Studio

The Content Studio group operates at the intersection of human creativity, quality, and emerging technology. We're on a mission to empower the world to design by building a world-class, personalised, AI-driven design experience for our users. Our work expands content acquisition, creation and discovery as well as unlocking design product experiences that helps every user, everywhere to bring their ideas to life.

Sitting in the Content Studio group, the Teams Studio Strategy Lead will help lead the newly established Teams Studio subgroup, whose mission is to help Canva become the secret weapon of all Sales and Marketing teams globally. In partnership with Design, Product and Engineering teams, you'll help to imagine, build, improve and refine our Teams users experience. You'll collaborate with multiple teams right across the Canva ecosystem, and, together with a Design Lead, lead a creative team who will be responsible for design production and review, tooling review, and craft consultancy.

What you'll do

As Strategy Lead, you bring expertise in strategy, business management (incl. budget ownership), leadership and cross-functional stakeholder management. In particular, you will:

  • Drive strategic and operational excellence within your group or subgroup, translating high-level vision into actionable roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Own budgeting and performance metrics tracking, developing data-driven insights and reporting frameworks that inform strategic decision-making and ensure alignment on priorities across your group or subgroup.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, operational bottlenecks, and strategic initiatives that drive business impact.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives, coordinating with Design, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Growth, and other specialties to deliver complex strategic outcomes.
  • Support organisational scaling by designing and implementing operational processes, tools, and frameworks that enable team growth.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can seamlessly bridge the gap between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You should be someone who naturally gravitates toward solving complex problems, enjoys working with data to drive decisions, and can build strong relationships in a collaborative and cross-functional environment. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigour with creative problem-solving, demonstrating both the ability to develop comprehensive strategies and the operational excellence to execute them flawlessly.

  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in strategy consulting, business strategy and operations or similar roles within high-growth content, media or marketplace technology companies
  • Proven track record of driving strategic objectives from conception to execution, with measurable business impact
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in data analysis, performance measurement, and budget ownership
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience partnering with senior leadership and owning cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of content or technology industry dynamics

What's in it for you?

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.

Here's a taste of what's on offer:

  • Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too
