We are a growing family law firm, who pride ourselves on supporting clients through some of life's most challenging moments with professionalism and care.

This role will be based at our Mascot office.

With offices in the CBD, Mascot, and Gladesville, we are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Paralegal to join our team. You'll play a key role in assisting our lawyers and helping deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, while developing your own legal skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

This role is integral in providing day-to-day legal and administrative support to our solicitors and partners across a broad range of family law matters. You'll be confident managing competing priorities, liaising with clients, and supporting the preparation of matters for court.

In this role, you will:

  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, chronologies, balance sheets, and general correspondence.
  • Assist solicitors and partners in preparing matters for court, including preparing briefs for Counsel and attending conferences.
  • Attend court hearings and assist with case preparation as required.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support advice and case strategy.
  • Handle sensitive information with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Open and close legal files, maintain accurate client records, and manage the legal precedent library.
  • Coordinate the delivery and collection of documents
  • Manage diaries and calendar appointments, including court dates and client meetings.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks, including printing, photocopying, and file management.
  • Record time entries, prepare client invoices, and assist with budget tracking.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • 2+ years of previous experience in a legal support or paralegal role, ideally within a family law firm.
  • Strong drafting skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in diary management and administrative coordination.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Sound knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • A good understanding of legal processes and the court system
