About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at our Jubilee Orchard as a full-time Irrigation Hand. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our orchard's irrigation systems, which are critical to crop performance and orchard productivity. This position offers the chance to work in a supportive environment, develop specialised irrigation skills, and contribute to the success of a leading agribusiness.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure consistent and effective water delivery.
  • Performing routine checks and maintenance on all irrigation/ fertigation systems including pumps, filters, valves, pipelines and dripper hose.
  • Assisting with irrigation scheduling and troubleshooting issues to optimise water efficiency.
  • Supporting orchard operations by testing and reporting system performance and recommending improvements.
  • Working closely with the farm management team to maintain crop health and meet production goals.
  • Mixing of fertilizers for application to achieve budgeted nutrient programs.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in agricultural or farm-related roles, with irrigation knowledge or hands-on experience highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn about advanced irrigation systems and practices.
  • Good communication skills, time management, and reliability in task delivery.
  • Current driver's licence (required).
