About the RoleThe Resident Manager is the on-site leader responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations, financial performance, compliance, and resident experience ofour Canvas Build-to-Rent (BTR) community in Queensland.
This role blends hospitality driven service with the operational precision of professional property management. The Resident Manager ensures compliance with all relevant Queensland legislation, including the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 (Qld), Agents Financial Administration Act 2014 (Qld), and Property Occupations Act 2014 (Qld) , along with Work Health & Safety and fire safety standards.
A key ambassador of the Canvas brand, the Resident Manager fosters a vibrant, connected community by proactively engaging with residents, coordinating and hosting regular events, and curating experiences that make every day feel a little more like home.
They play a pivotal role in maximising occupancy, retention, and revenue performance while ensuring operational excellence, compliance integrity, and brand consistency across all resident touchpoints.
What We SeekWe're looking for an experienced property professional with a passion for resident service and community. Or an exceptional hospitality leader ready to bring their operational and people skills into the fast-growing Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Be an Australian Resident or hold Full Working Rights
- Ideally hold (or be willing to obtain) a Queensland Real Estate Registration Certificate
- Have 3+ years' experience in hospitality, residential management, co-living, or BTR operations
- Be proficient in compliance systems, financial reporting, budgeting, and resident engagement programs
- Demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
- Bring energy, creativity, and a resident-first mindset to every interaction
- No body corporates — each site is owned by a single investor, keeping decision making agile and efficient
