We're looking for a Profit Protection Project Lead to drive initiatives that safeguard value across Kmart Group. In this role, you'll lead the design, delivery, and execution of shrink reduction and risk mitigation projects that directly impact profitability and operational efficiency.
Sitting at the intersection of Profit Protection, Operations, and cross-functional teams, you'll translate data-driven insights into practical, scalable solutions that reduce loss, enhance processes, and embed sustainable controls. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, you'll collaborate with key partners across Merchandise, Property, Store Operations, and other key support office functions—ensuring initiatives are effectively adopted, supported by deep loss prevention expertise, and deliver measurable, long-term outcomes.
What will you do?
- Identify shrink reduction opportunities based on internal insights overlaid with industry trends
- Lead end-to-end delivery of shrink reduction and risk mitigation projects, ensuring they're delivered on time, within budget, and to scope.
- Analyse shrink, operational, and performance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with Profit Protection, Operations, and Store teams to design and implement solutions that are practical, store-ready, and sustainable.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and reporting to track ROI and benefits realisation.
- Support training and adoption to ensure initiatives are embedded into BAU.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure projects deliver measurable outcomes.
What are we looking for?
- Strong background in Profit Protection, loss prevention, or operational risk.
- Experience in project coordination or management within retail.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives.
- Strong analytical mindset, with proven experience using data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, across store and support office levels.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a focus on delivering results.
Benefits we'll offer:
- Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy.
- Access to our team member discount program which can be used across our company network, including Target, Kmart, Bunnings, and Officeworks.
- A free OnePass membership offering free delivery across Target and Kmart on eligible product.
- Access to our benefits program, which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health, with over 60 suppliers.
- We want you to feel rewarded for your commitment and hard work, that's why there is opportunity for eligible team members to participate in a bonus program.
- Free onsite parking when you're required to come into the office.
- We offer inclusive parental leave and ongoing support through our partnership with Circle In for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances.
- A dynamic learning and support program.
- Opportunity to fast-track your career through our Mentor Program as a Mentee or Mentor.
- Kudos recognition program, where you are nominated by your peers to spin a wheel, to win a stack of cool prizes.
- Wesfarmers is Kmart and Target's parent company, and each year, eligible employees can elect to purchase shares through a salary sacrifice arrangement.
- Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group.
