About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Duties
The High Risk Offenders Officer contributes to the provision of administrative services and support to the Parole Board of South Australia. The position is responsible for the administration and processing of offenders recommended for, or placed on, Interim/Extended Supervision Orders to the Parole Board pursuant to the Criminal Law (High Risk Offenders) Act, 2015] the collation of reports and submissions; the preparation of Member's files for consideration by the Board and the appropriate dissemination of Parole Board decisions.
The position facilitates the procedures associated with the administration of Interim/Extended Supervision orders, the preparation of reports and correspondence with external agencies, the issue and administration of warrants of arrest at the direction of the Parole Board of South Australia, scheduling for interviews with the Board, and referrals to the Supreme Court as required.
Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
- A flexible approach to working hours is required;
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
