We're hiring: Senior Casual Beauty Therapist

Part time · 20–30 hours a week · South Melbourne

Our small, mindful salon is growing — and we're inviting a kind, experienced therapist to join our team in a part-time, casual role.

We're The Hive Beauty, a holistic and unisex salon tucked away in the heart of South Melbourne. For over 9 years, we've been a space where people can pause, soften, and reconnect — with their skin, their body, and their sense of self.

We offer a thoughtful blend of science-backed skin treatments and gentle beauty services. Our work is guided by trauma-informed care, nervous system awareness, and a deep respect for each client's unique experience.

About the role

This is a casual role with a minimum of 20 hours per week, with potential to grow to 30 hours, depending on your availability and how the role evolves.

Available days and hours:

• Wednesday: 10am–8pm
• Thursday: 10am–8pm
• Saturday: 9am–2pm
• (Optional) Friday: 10am–6pm

This role may suit someone:

• Looking to return to the industry after time away
• Wanting flexible hours around study, parenting or other commitments
• Ready to work independently while still feeling supported

What we're looking for

You'll bring:

• A Diploma of Beauty Therapy (or Advanced Diploma of Dermal Science)
• A Diploma of Beauty Therapy is strictly required for this position
• 6+ years of experience in the industry is favourable
• A minimum of 4-5 years of industry experience is required
• A calm, professional presence and a genuine care for people
• A personal interest in wellness and holistic health
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Full Australian working rights

Experience with advanced skin treatments is ideal, but not essential — we'll provide supportive training to help you feel confident and aligned with our treatment style.
