Utility/Underground Services Locator

We are seeking expressions of interest for an experienced utility/underground services locator to join our team based in Sydney. This role involves identifying and tracing underground services using electromagnetic induction and ground-penetrating radar (GPR), to support the company's site investigations teams. The role would be well suited to an individual who works well within a team, in a professional work environment, and who is able to manage their time, equipment, documentation and work schedule effectively.

An expression of interest from a suitable applicant should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Prior experience undertaking utility/underground services locator work, either as an employee of a reputable locating business, or as a subcontractor.
  • Prior training and/or holding relevant accreditations (e.g. Telstra Accredited Plant Locators).
  • An ability to work efficiently and independently, and as part of a team.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • An ability to coordinate and schedule daily activities to meet the company's project demands.

Applicants must be reliable, motivated and hold a valid driver's license.

It is expected that the position will be full time, Monday to Friday, with appropriate compensation for any overtime or weekend work. Work will primarily occur in the Sydney region, with only occasional work in regional areas.

Salary/hourly rates will be negotiated with the successful applicant, with salary to be in the upper band or above market rates for the right applicant. We encourage applicants to outline salary expectations in their expression of interest. Additional remuneration/compensation can be negotiated with the successful applicant, should the applicant already own their own locating equipment.

There will also be an opportunity to package a company vehicle and mobile phone with salary for the successful applicant.
