Big Fat Smile is a not-for-profit that plays a pivotal role in the lives of thousands of children and families across Australia. We are early education enthusiasts, with 40+ community preschools, long day care centres and fun clubs, and a variety of community and inclusion programs. Each one dedicated to giving every child the best start in life. And each well-respected for the work it does.

As part of the Marketing Team, your initial challenge is to ensure the timely and cost-effective provision of media and design services.

You will undertake a mix of media and design-related activities and ensure the effective positioning of Big Fat Smile and its product in an increasingly competitive market.

As a not-for-profit organisation competing in a complex and highly regulated sector, you will need to develop an understanding of complex customer and intra-organisational needs. You will therefore be resourceful, flexible and responsive to these needs with the ability to see the organisational big picture.

What you will do

  • Manage design requests, copy changes and updates for the Big Fat Smile website.
  • Record and edit promotional video material that is used across internal communications, SEM advertising and social media.
  • Work with the Marketing Team Leader to collate photo and video content that is deployed throughout Big Fat Smile's marketing and communications plan. Manage Big Fat Smile's email communications and development of e-newsletters using Mailchimp.
  • Assist with completing social media planning and scheduling across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Manage graphic design requests and priorities accordingly.
  • Assist with the implementation of marketing campaigns per the annual Marketing Strategy.
  • Collaborate with external media partners in accordance with Big Fat Smile's strategic goals and yearly marketing plan.

What you need to succeed:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a content creation role, with expertise in photography, videography and graphic design
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, PremierePro, InDesign and Illustrator
  • A working knowledge of WordPress
  • Highly creative, flexible, responsive and team-orientated
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Well-developed writing skills
  • Self-motivated with strong planning, organisational skills and a results-focused mindset.
  • Proven capacity to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
