Senior C++ Engineer – Real-Time Trading Systems

About the opportunity

We are presenting a high-growth financial technology firm building real-time platforms that power mission-critical trading and risk workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role with clear ownership, measurable performance impact, and the chance to shape systems relied on by global market participants.

What you'll do

  • Design and ship modern C++ components for high-throughput, real-time systems.
  • Drive end-to-end performance work: profiling, micro-optimisations, lock contention reduction, memory/cache tuning.
  • Build robust, production-grade multithreaded services on Linux.
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture reviews for low-latency pathways.
  • Harden, scale, and continuously improve live systems with reliability as a first-class goal.
  • Partner with adjacent teams to diagnose bottlenecks across application, kernel, and network layers.

What we're looking for

  • Strong modern C++ (templates, concurrency, move semantics; C++ experience welcome).
  • Deep knowledge of Linux internals, multithreading, and real-time programming.
  • Proven track record of low-level performance optimisation (CPU, memory, syscalls, I/O).
  • Sharp analytical/problem-solving skills and ownership mindset.
  • Professional English (written & spoken).

Helpful background (nice to have)

  • Real-time data processing or electronic trading exposure.
  • Familiarity with market data feeds, networking stacks, or low-latency messaging.
