About the Department for Correctional Services

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Duties

The Manager, Mirnu Unit 2, is accountable to the Director, Rehabilitation Services for the leadership, management, and coordination of the Mirnu 2 Correctional Treatment Unit (CTU), located within Yatala Labour Prison. The CTU is designed to provide intensive interventions for offenders who meet the criteria for placement within Mirnu-2. This criterion includes high-risk offenders subject to Interim Supervision Orders (ISOs), Extended Supervision Orders (ESOs), Parole Orders, or other community-based orders while they are in custody.

Mirnu-2 also delivers a range of other therapeutic and criminogenic programs targeting key criminogenic needs, including general offending, domestic violence, and general violence.

Special Conditions

• Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
• The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
• A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential
• A flexible approach to working hours is required.
• Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Requirements

Essential: Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, or A degree in Social Work (eligible for registration with the AASW) and relevant training and experience in conducting comprehensive forensic assessment and intervention

Desirable: Evidence of self-initiated continuing professional development such as higher qualifications.

Remuneration

AHP4: $118,887 - $129,427 plus Managerial Allowance.

Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.
