WHAT YOU BRING

Experience & Credentials

  • 5-8 years of PR agency experience is required, with preference given to experience in B2B, technology, and finance fields
  • 5-8 years of related experience will be considered, e.g. in journalism
  • A minimum Bachelor-level degree in an appropriate field is highly preferred, e.g. Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Finance

Abilities

  • Clear, compelling, and kind communication in written and oral forms across a range of situations
  • Ability to distil large volumes of complex information into compelling points and narratives
  • Proficiency in basic data analysis and interpretation of figures/statistics
  • Highly skilled in accurate and well-sourced research
  • Outstanding organisational skills, with the ability to use workflow management software to regularly meet multiple deadlines across projects and portfolios
  • Outstanding team collaborations skills, including the ability to manage up, sideways, and down as required
  • The aptitude to build a network of media professionals and influencers, then leverage this network to create media engagement that drives the commercial objectives of multiple clients

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall

  • Effectively use, manage, and contribute to Third Hemisphere systems and procedures such as our suite of manuals and software programs, e.g. , Google Drive, Telum, WhatsApp, GMass, and others
  • Proactively contribute to the harmonious and high-quality performance of the PR delivery team, and the broader agency, at all times

Client Account Support

  • Oversee new client setup, including the media snapshot, and determine the upfront strategy
  • Oversee the management of a selection of client accounts including leading WIPs (or ensuring your Account Manager is leading WIPs), formulating and agreeing media strategy according to the contracted output, and using best endeavours to ensure output is met
  • Oversee the preparation of client WIP agendas and boards
  • Formulate and continuously update a Rolling PR Plan
  • Provide timely and proactive day-to-day client support and comms on relevant topics, including responding within the day to all emails, and more expediently on WhatsApp
  • Oversee the coordination and scheduling of interviews, photoshoots, and other logistical activities
  • Conduct media training at the beginning and ahead of media opportunities throughout the engagement

Writing

  • Author or edit a final draft of all media content (e.g. media releases, pitches, editorials, and statements), ensuring each piece contains accurate client key messages and details, and is appropriate for the target publication
  • Author or edit a final draft of all client content (e.g. media strategies, rolling PR plan, coverage reports, briefing notes, general advice), ensuring each piece provides insightful counsel and creates confidence in our expertise
  • Perform research and data analysis as required, ensuring all research is sourced and calculations are shown

Media Relations

  • When acting as Account Lead, every two months for every client: 1) pitch and place a minimum of 1 x tier-1 feature where the client is named, quoted, and a feature photo of them is used, and 2) pitch and place a minimum of 2 x tier-1 mentions where the client is quoted
  • When acting as the Assistant on an account, every quarter for every client: 2) pitch and place a minimum of 1 x tier-1 feature where the client is named, quoted, and a feature photo of them is used, and 2) pitch and place a minimum of 6 x trade press features where the client is named, quoted, and a feature photo of them is used
  • Oversee the maintenance of media lists and Third Hemisphere's various media databases by your team
  • Cultivate rich and highly valuable tier-1 media relationships for clients and the agency as a whole
  • Pitch and secure tier-1 and trade coverage via a broad range of media tactics and campaigns that are directly aligned to client commercial and comms goals, in line with contracted output, and delivered across a wide variety of media channels and types
  • Influence the direction and outcome of interviews, including where the subject matter is contentious, or the client has concerns
  • Skillfully provide additional support, information, backgrounding, and collateral to the media in a manner that engenders trust in Third Hemisphere and the client
  • Remain highly attuned to the changing media landscape as a whole, and within various client industries
  • Proactively identify newsjacking opportunities through regular media monitoring
  • Lead crisis comms or government relations activities as required and with complete discretion

Leadership

  • Lead training & development of lower-level staff, including implementing performance reviews
  • Help lower-level staff to manage the training & development of staff below them
  • Delegate, guide, instruct, and provide feedback to lower-level staff on a daily basis
  • Actively guide and shape team syncs and other culture-based and teambuilding activities, to foster a cohesive and collaborative work environment
  • Coach and inspire the loyalty, growth, and development of existing and new staff
  • Recommend and introduce potential new staff

Business Development

  • Maintain rapport and credibility with existing clients, to retain and grow accounts
  • Identify, introduce, secure, and expand new client relationships across key regions, including by attending calls with potential clients as required and contributing your media insights and expertise
  • Maintain a database of leads, including tracking their progress and interactions with the company
  • Build and sell new offerings
  • Represent and promote Third Hemisphere at events and to relevant industry ecosystem organisations, influencers, and networks
  • Establish Third Hemisphere as a preferred referral partner for relevant partners in the region.
  • Suggest and implement new channels and amplification strategies for clients and Third Hemisphere
