A Regional Council based in Katherine is seeking a skilled Finance Business Partner to support financial performance and strategic decision making across a key service delivery program. This role is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract

Your new role

Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the Regional Manager, this role will play a critical part in strengthening financial management, planning, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver accurate monthly financial reports with variance analysis
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting aligned to program goals
  • Provide strategic financial insights to inform resource allocation
  • Drive process improvements and enhance financial controls
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance documentation
  • Develop dashboards and business cases for executive review

What you'll need to succeed

  • CPA qualified (essential)
  • Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and compliance
  • Proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value
  • Experience in service oriented program delivery, ideally within Commonwealth grant-funded environments (desirable)
