Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ING Australia Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

ING Australia's risk division is looking to hire a Manager – Enterprise & ESG Risk on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract.

The role sits within the line 2 Enterprise Risk Management team, where you will support the development and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statement as well as the implementation of the Climate & ESG Risk Frameworks across the organisation.

You don't need to have enterprise risk or climate risk experience. We are looking for risk professionals that combine experience in multiple risk classes, for instance operational risk combined with either credit risk or market risk with a line 2 risk management skillset. We can train you on the rest.

This is a high profile, shop window role where you will get exposure to emerging risk classes and have the opportunity to impress key stakeholders across the business.

What you'll do

  • Lead the localisation (fit for purpose locally) and implementation of the ING Group ESG Risk Framework, including the expansion from an initial focus on climate risks to wider ESG risks.
  • Assist in the development, execution and ongoing enhancement of key ERM processes that support the identification and management of risks - ensure alignment with underlying frameworks and policies across Risk and where relevant, the ING Group.
  • Support ongoing refinements and updates to key risk infrastructure components – Risk Management Approach, Risk Strategy, Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Governance artefacts
  • Collaborate across line 2 and line 1 Risk Management to ensure alignment and effective risk management across the frameworks
  • Facilitate proactive risk management by providing insights from ERM processes to design measures to navigate risks and emerging trends that impacts the Bank's strategy
  • Manage ad-hoc risk projects that develop and mature the Bank's risk management capability and processes, including responding to prudential changes
  • Execute (emerging) risk identification and assess their impact on the overall strategy of the bank.
  • Contribute to thematic reviews or deep dives into emerging risks to assess materiality and potential impact in ING.

What we're looking for

  • Experience maintaining frameworks, drafting policies, procedures, and developing and implementing new processes and systems
  • Knowledge of specific prudential requirements including CPS220 and CPG229 – would be regarded as highly advantageous
  • Ability to connect qualitative/subjective data sources to draw themes and insights
  • Minimum 5-7 years practical experience in a risk and compliance function in the financial services industry combining multiple risk classes
  • Proven experience in creating high quality management information
  • Analytical skills – ability to proactively identify and diagnose risk related issues quickly and provide business-oriented solutions
  • Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders across all levels of management (both internally and externally), make recommendations and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes

What's in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT Day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
