We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Senior Business Advisor to provide high-level support to the Executive Director and the regional leadership team. This temporary opportunity is to cover annual leave from 22 December 2025 – 28 January 2026.

The Senior Business Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic and operational priorities across the region. The successful applicant will provide timely, high-quality advice on a broad range of issues that influence the delivery of key priorities and will work closely with senior leaders to ensure well-coordinated and effective business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration function of the division, establishing appropriate priorities and successful delivery of outcomes.
  • Provide support and advice to the Executive Director and Directors for the ongoing management of the team's business planning, including financial and resource reporting.
  • Contribute to divisional strategic planning and provide high level advice and options analysis on elements of the forward work program.
  • Assist with the research, analyse and preparation of responses/presentations on issues and brief the Executive Director or their representative in preparation for attendance at internal and external meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • Review divisional responses and briefing notes to ensure consistency with policy and standards where the Executive Director is the endorsing/approval officer.
  • Monitor key deliverables and priorities as directed by the Executive Director in relation to activities of the division and manage any risks that may impact on delivery of outcomes.
  • Build and maintain networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the NHVR on committees and working groups.
  • Liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, internally and externally, to research, analyse, make recommendations and prepare responses for the Executive Director, including Ministerial, Board and general correspondence, Briefing Papers, reports and briefings on critical and sensitive matters.
  • Support enhancement and continuous improvement of the division's capacity, capability and strategic alignment through business improvement and development.
  • Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Skills and Capabilities 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills to manage the administration activities of the division to deliver NHVR strategic goals.
  • Sound research, analysis and problem-solving skills evidenced by ability to frame complex issues clearly and precisely.
  • Demonstrated high levels of written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate desired outcomes with internal and external stakeholders at local, state and national levels.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and responsibilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain financial and organisation plans and activities. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in senior administration roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and preparing policy, complex documentation including, reports, briefing, metrics and correspondence.
  • Extensive experience in using a range of systems and information technology.
