The Townsville Public Health Unit (TPHU) aims to protect community health by focusing on populations rather than individuals. Working with health services, government, councils, NGOs, researchers, and community groups, TPHU reduces communicable, vaccine-preventable diseases, and environmental health risks within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service region.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $ to $ p.f. (Nurse Grade 7)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- On-call allowances (if applicable)

About your opportunity
The Public Health Nurse plays a vital role in promoting immunisation and controlling communicable diseases across Queensland. This position provides expert advice, education, and support to individuals, families, and healthcare professionals to enhance vaccine uptake and protect community health.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing of equivalent certification and registration with AHPRA
- Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster
- This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle.
- Authorisation as an Immunisation Program Nurse (IPN) to practice under the provisions of the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 2021
