About the work unit / facility

The Operating Theatres at Townsville University Hospital support a wide range of surgical specialties. The General/Colorectal Surgery theatres run five days a week, staffed by a dedicated team focused on delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care.

Competitive salary and benefits

  • Salary between $54.44 – $58.30 per hour (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1).
  • 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with % loading.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity

This Clinical Nurse role offers a unique opportunity to lead and support perioperative services in General/Colorectal Surgery. You will manage rosters, mentor staff, and ensure theatre coverage in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager. The role requires extensive experience in surgical nursing and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with AHPRA and a valid practising certificate.
  • Evidence of vaccination or immunity to specified Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs).
  • Participation in on-call roster and flexible shift arrangements.
  • A probationary period may apply.
