Are you a highly organised event professional with a passion for bringing communities together and a knack for seamless delivery? We are looking for a dedicated Events and Activations Support Officer to play a key role in executing our annual calendar of major community celebrations.
This exciting role is central to the success of our most significant community engagement projects. You'll work closely with the Events and Activations Team, providing critical support for our signature festive season event and a range of large-scale activations throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Signature Event Coordination: You'll be the reliable backbone for our major multi-week festive season event, assisting the Project Lead with everything from managing vendors and on-site logistics to taking meeting minutes, securing quotes, and handling customer requests and stakeholder liaison.
- Operational Support: Ensure financial processes run smoothly by supporting the team with raising requisitions and processing invoices using our online system.
- Major Activations Delivery: Help coordinate and deliver other high-profile Council events, including those for national holidays, cultural new years, and seasonal celebrations.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate our organisation's successful participation in various Community Events across the region.
- Flexibility: This role requires a flexible attitude and the ability to work after hours and weekends as needed to support our dynamic event schedule.
- You are a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting
- Experience in an event assistance role
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with community groups, staff, and volunteers
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to raise purchase requisitions and prepare/monitor budgets
- A current Class C driver's license and own reliable transport
- A Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
Highly Desirable:
- A tertiary qualification in Event Management, Marketing, or a related discipline and/or a minimum 3 years of appropriate professional experience
- Experience in minute taking and supporting community committees.
