About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Horticultural Production Supervisor to oversee and enhance our horticultural operations. In this role, you will supervise daily production activities, lead and mentor staff, and uphold the highest standards of horticultural practice across multiple sites.

The position combines outdoor horticultural work with leadership, project planning, and client engagement. You will play a key role in maintaining production quality, driving efficiency, and supporting the continued growth of our services.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee planting, cultivation, harvesting, and packing of horticultural crops to achieve production targets and quality standards.
• Supervise horticultural practices such as pruning, trimming, thinning, and tree training to promote healthy plant growth and maximise yields.
• Monitor crops for pests, diseases, irrigation needs, and nutrient deficiencies, implementing timely corrective measures.
• Safely prepare and apply pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers, and other treatments in line with environmental regulations.
• Manage the operation, maintenance, and repair of horticultural machinery, tools, and farm infrastructure.
• Coordinate the installation, operation, and upkeep of irrigation and fertigation systems to support crop production.
• Train, organise, and guide horticultural workers, ensuring adherence to safe work practices and efficient production methods.
• Plan and schedule seasonal cropping programs to optimise productivity and meet delivery requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An AQF Bachelor degree or higher in Horticulture, Agriculture, or equivalent, or relevant practical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within horticulture or a related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of horticultural methods and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring, or coaching staff.
• Understanding of job planning, costing, and quoting within horticulture or grounds maintenance.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and lead teams.
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites across Queensland.
