EXCITING INTERNAL OPPORTUNITY – Support Worker

Please note, this role is ONLY open for CURRENT/INTERNAL Allara employees.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and community-minded support worker to work alongside, a vibrant participant in the Penrith area every work permanently every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The successful applicant must be available to work permanently every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key areas of support include:

  • Encouraging community participation and helping them build social connections
  • Assisting with light household tasks and supporting their independence, particularly in the kitchen
  • Providing companionship and engaging with their interests, which include music, singing, hair, and make-up
  • They're known for their sense of humour, warmth, and resilience. On weekends, they enjoy spending time around Sydney Harbour — exploring the city and relaxing by the water.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and physical support to individuals in need
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Help individuals with meal preparation and feeding
  • Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
  • Accompany individuals to appointments and activities
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Monitor and report any changes in an individual's condition
  • Provide a safe and comfortable environment for individuals

Qualifications:

  • Available to work permanently every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
