** ABOUT THE FAMILY...**

⭐ Residing in the home is a 43-year-old single mother who has a 7-year-old boy

⭐ Family pets [a dog ] resides here so you must be comfortable with providing basic care to the entire Family

⭐ The Mother has Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Depression, Anxiety & Ectodermal Dysplasia (ED). Equally, the son has inherited ED & is affected the same as Mum. On top of that he also has anxiety, a speech delay & Autism [Level 2]

⭐ The client would like to be supported with achieving her NDIS goals of remaining independent & remaining the primary carer for her son

**THE HOME ENVIRONMENT & COMMUNITY...**

⭐ The residence is a double storey, 3-bedroom townhouse with street parking only

⭐ The client & her son both live downstairs due to safety reasons

⭐ You must be physically fit to assist with tasks that require stairs

⭐ Part of this role is to assist with the client’s son in a positive manner, using manners & leading by example, during every interaction. Fostering a genuine connection with the client & her son will facilitate in securing your position with this little Family

**THE JOB DESCRIPTION...**

⭐ Average of 8 hours per week (with some Split shifts) & additional shifts may be available from time to time. Looking for 8am to 4pm.

⭐ Transportation using the client's vehicle is required for the following tasks: Taking the client’s son to & from school, to Doctor/Specialist appointments, shopping & to planned social outings

⭐ Some meal preparation required

⭐ Assisting to clear clutter in the current home

⭐ The client would like to plan social outings once a month/quarter on a weekend, in line with their NDIS goals

⭐ Some light domestic duties &/or gardening, from time to time. There is a dedicated cleaner weekly but you will need to be able to complete some tasks in between the appointments & fill in the gaps between these services

⭐ Assisting with care for the family pet dog, for eg. Feeding, picking up waste from yard, administering medication &/or going for walks

⭐ Notify the client directly as soon as possible if you are unable to work a shift

⭐ You must ensure that the consistency of support is maintained throughout your employment

⭐ You will also be responsible for other ad hoc duties, as required, from time to time

⭐ Assistance with difficult tasks like cutting nails, spray in ears, wiping tears from eyes with tissues

**YOUR EDUCATION, CHECKS & TRAINING...**

⭐ Minimum 3 years of experience within a similar role [Desirable]

⭐ First Aid Certificate [Desirable]

⭐ Working With Children Check (WWCC) [Required]

⭐ Police Check [Required]

⭐ Unrestricted NSW Driver's License [Required]

⭐ NDIS Worker Screening Check [Required]

⭐ Patience & being able to remain calm IS A MUST in order to assist with the client's anxiety

⭐ Able to assist the client & her family in a positive manner

⭐ You should be empathetic, caring & understanding

⭐ You should be helpful without being asked

⭐ You will need to set a good example, including using manners

⭐ MUST be honest & have a very high standard of personal integrity

⭐ You will be able to communicate effectively, being able to talk through any issue/s that arise

⭐ You MUST be an animal person

⭐ Be adaptable to rapidly changing circumstances, think outside the box

⭐ Possess a client focussed & person centred approach

⭐ Have a commitment to inclusion & value difference/diversity in ALL of its forms

⭐ You will be good with creating & adhering to routines as this Family thrives when everything is organised (& Labelled)

⭐ Some help with reminders will also be a part of your role

⭐ You will be able to produce care reports & provide feedback to the client directly

⭐ Actively contribute to improvement of your support, including being a member of this small team & which will occasionally require the coverage of any shifts

⭐ Strong time management skills & the ability to prioritise daily, weekly, monthly & annual tasks

⭐ Must be able to make a long-term commitment to the client & her family

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
