About the Project

Are you an enthusiastic, engaging educator or presenter with a love for natural history, science, and First Nations cultures? Do you want to make a significant impact as part of a team delivering high-quality educational experiences for over 60,000 students and teachers per year? The Australian Museum is looking for Education Presenters to join our team in 2026 in a temporary part-time or casual role.

About the Role

Education Presenters at the Australian Museum deliver high-quality educational programs that highlight and celebrate history, natural sciences and First Nations and Pasifika cultures. These temporary roles involve the delivery of learning programs and activities that align with NSW education curricula, the Early Years Learning Framework and museum policies, with a strong emphasis on First Nations perspectives.

We are offering two types of employment engagements:

Temporary employment

  • Clerk Grade 3/4: salary range offered for the role will be $84,659 - $92,701 with penalty rates for Saturday, Sunday and public holidays

  • Fixed term February December 2026, with potential for extension

  • Multiple shifts available

  • 7 days a week

  • Shifts may range between 9:00am - 5pm

Casual employment

  • Clerk Grade 3/4 salary ranged offered - $ $50.76 per hour plus casual loadings

  • Casual February December 2026, with potential for extension

  • Multiple shifts available

  • 7 days a week

  • Shifts may range between 9:00am - 5pm

About you

We are seeking engaging and enthusiastic educators or presenters with a love for natural history, science, and committed to promoting First Nations and Pasifika cultures. The ideal candidates will be experienced presenters with a proven ability to learn and deliver a variety of education programs and activities for audiences of preschool to tertiary aged students, and their teachers and carers.

They should be creative and culturally sensitive with experience delivering science and history education content that authentically represents First Nations and Pasifika perspectives. Successful candidates will be collaborative team players, able to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

We are also seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and Pasifika peoples to deliver our highly sought-after First Nations and Pasifika community informed and led education programs. Australian Museum First Nations and Pasifika education programs are developed by First Nations and Pasifika peoples for First Nations and Pasifika peoples.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Ability to teach a variety of education programs and experience in translating complex scientific and cultural content for students and community audiences of a range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

  • Understanding, knowledge and interest in the formal education sector in NSW and Museum education pedagogies.

  • Understanding, knowledge and interest in natural sciences, climate solutions, First Nations and Pasifika cultures, and cultural heritage issues.

Essential requirements

  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Clearance
