The Chief Information Security Officer Branch within Chief Information Officer Command provides cyber security services that underpin AFP activities. The Planning and Management section reports to the Chief Information Security Officer and provides key enabling services to the whole Chief Information Officer Command.
The Planning and Management Team are currently seeking experienced staff to fill the vacant position of Senior Team Leader Business Vendor Management.
As a Senior Team Leader you play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?As a Senior Team Leader your responsibilities will include:
- Being accountable for managing and leading a team, including managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Developing team members and fulfilling a guiding, mentoring and advisory role.
- Providing HR and management support to team members and supervisors.
- Building and sustaining relationships and liaising with a range of stakeholders including other teams, peers and colleagues across AFP and other organisations.
- Supplying advice and services to business areas seeking to improve or enhance their business processes.
- Assisting in maintaining regular and timely communication with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Ensuring that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, communicate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services.
- Ensuring outputs are achieved within the strategic direction of the AFP.
- Leading a range of corporate support tasks.
- Maintaining currency through ongoing professional development
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Can demonstrate contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
- Relevant qualifications or extensive experience and knowledge in government procurement and/or contract management.
- Strong writing skills.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for change and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Cert IV in Government Procurement & Contracting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate between business and technical people.
This role is located in Canberra and applicants are expected to be based in Canberra. Interstate applicants must be willing to relocate at their own cost.
