CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park is seeking a proactive and people-focused Operations Leader to support the delivery of world-class events at one of Australia's most iconic precincts. Surrounded by leading venue professionals and working across the broader Melbourne Park site, this is a unique opportunity to grow your career in the dynamic world of major events.

About the Role

As Operations Leader you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of events within CENTREPIECE and across Melbourne Park. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role leads a team of Operations Supervisors and works closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and event partners to ensure seamless delivery and outstanding guest experiences.

From corporate galas to live broadcast events, no two days are the same. You'll play a key role in daily operations, venue presentation, event readiness, and risk and safety management - while fostering a high-performing, engaged and service-focused team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to the CENTREPIECE Operations Supervisors
  • Lead venue operations during event setup, delivery, and pack-down
  • Coordinate and support operational logistics including AV, rigging, cleaning, security, catering, and infrastructure partners
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align operations with event and business objectives
  • Champion safety, risk, and compliance standards across all event activities
  • Maintain high standards of venue presentation and operational excellence
  • Assist in project management of maintenance and infrastructure improvements across the precinct
  • Support recruitment, training and onboarding of casual operations staff
What You'll Bring
  • Experience in event operations within a major venue, arena, stadium, or multi-use entertainment precinct
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse operational teams
  • Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills
  • A deep commitment to safety, risk mitigation, and compliance
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing demands
  • Passion for delivering outstanding customer and client experiences
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day event calendar including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of venue operations systems and Microsoft Office suite
