Our client is an iconic Australian retailer currently going through significant change and transformation. As part of their drive towards a best in class supply chain function, an amazing opportunity has arisen for a senior logistics professional in the capacity of 'Distribution Centre Operations Manager - Afternoon Shift'.

About the Opportunity
 

Reporting to the National Distribution Centre Manager and leading a large team, the 'Distribution Centre Operations Manager - Afternoon Shift' is responsible for leading the operational, safety and commercial performance of a large, high volume, omni-channel distribution centre, driving operational efficiency and improving customer service levels. In this high-profile leadership role, your key accountability will also include:

  • Working collaboratively with a number of internal functions and external stakeholders to ensure service levels, inventory targets and resource planning is optimised.
  • Ensuring that standard operating procedures on site are aligned to broader business strategies around safety, service and commercial outcomes.
  • Driving supply chain projects, continuous improvement initiatives and identifying systems and automation opportunities that may be benefited from.
  • Ensuring that the broader national distribution network is supported by sound performance in what is a critical distribution centre.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be a logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in either the consumer goods, retail or 3PL industries. You will have had experience overseeing a large single site or multi-site distribution network, leading large teams, driving cost reductions and improving customer service levels. Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will also possess first class interpersonal and demonstrated influencing abilities.
