With a growing pipeline of high-value demolition and civil infrastructure projects, DEMEX is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our national team. Reporting to the CFO, you'll play a critical role supporting strategic decision-making and project success through financial insights, margin tracking, and commercial analysis.

You'll bring more than just numbers; we're seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-focused environment and enjoys partnering with operations, estimating, and leadership teams to drive financial performance. This is an opportunity for a commercial thinker with strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in aligning operational performance with economic success.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation and analysis of financial statements, including EOM and EOFY processes
  • Supporting project costing, revenue, and margin tracking across complex scopes
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projection for projects and business units
  • Detailed project financial analysis and reporting to support business performance
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and CRM system
  • Building reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Monitoring financial KPIs and cost/revenue drivers across projects
  • Supporting tender and bid processes with commercial insights
  • Collaborating with estimating, operations, and project teams to improve cost control
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of financial systems and processes
  • Providing commercial support on pricing strategies, subcontractor negotiations, and investment decisions
  • Assisting with ERP data accuracy and job costing systems

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of relevant finance or project accounting experience
  • CPA or CA qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, costing, and project-based environments
  • Proficiency in Power BI and financial systems
  • Familiarity with construction ERP systems (preferred)
  • Ability to think fast, work accurately, and manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with non-financial stakeholders
  • Highly organised with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Able to work independently and as part of a broader commercial team
