ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Product Designer, you will have a strong background in user interaction design, system design and visual design. You will have an opportunity to set up and operationalise component libraries and design systems, and you will influence changes in user behaviour through ideas, creativity, and UI design.

You will bring exceptional design thought to Kablamo, delivering projects in partnership with the client, strategic direction, and technology.

Responsibilities:

• Execute innovative and effective digital communications, user experience, and interaction designs that stay ahead of industry trends.
• Work through the full design process of AI tools, products and platform design — from discovery to high-fidelity design — bringing clarity to ambiguity and aligning user needs with design solutions.
• Collaborate across disciplines (Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing)
• Effectively communicate design decisions and approach across teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
• Ability to prototype quickly using various tools (Figma & AI design tools), taking a concept, sketches, flows and ideas into consideration.
• Document best practices and usage guidelines to help designers and engineers understand how, why, and when to use specific components or patterns.
• Contribute to business development, branding and marketing materials.
• Learn new skills, stay abreast of technical and digital design developments, and successfully apply these to work practices to improve processes and procedures.
• Implement high design standards at Kablamo by contributing to design critiques, helping shape a strong and inclusive culture within Kablamo Studio.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in product design in a tech, consulting or SaaS environment
• A solid grasp of design fundamentals, including prototyping, user research, UI and typography.
• Team player, self-starter, can-do attitude and curious to learn from others.
• Able to anticipate user needs and advocate for the user while balancing short and long-term product goals
• Experience designing both web & mobile applications (with a portfolio to showcase your work)
• Knowledgeable in design systems, including tokens, components, and libraries — with the ability to build, scale, and evolve systems in collaboration with front-end teams.
• Understands and applies accessibility principles across web-based platforms
• Experience in an agile environment, collaborating end-to-end across product lifecycles: working with Product, Engineering, QA and Business Development
• Strong communication and presentation skills – comfortable presenting concepts, communicating design thinking, and creating high-quality visual outputs (prototypes, slides, one-pagers, simple web layouts)

Bonus Points for:

• Experience working with external clients
• A degree in design, interaction design, visual studies or other design-related fields
• Experience working on enterprise or B2B products
• Basic knowledge of AI/ML technology applications
• Basic knowledge of Front End development frameworks (Javascript, Xcode etc)
