Consultancy: International Communications and Advocacy Specialist – Preventing SEAH in ADB Projects

About Plan International Australia

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children's rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it's girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children's rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries.

Purpose of the consultancy

At Plan International Australia, we're using our voice to create safer and fairer communities. Join us as the International Communications and Advocacy Specialist for an Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded pilot preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) in infrastructure projects in Nepal.

This short-term consultancy (approximately two person-months) will translate the project's insights into compelling communications and advocacy products to influence global development practice.

Expected deliverables

  • Developing and implementing a communication and advocacy plan for the SEAH prevention pilot.
  • Creating advocacy materials, case studies, and "how-to" guides for governments, NGOs, and contractors.
  • Producing engaging written, visual, and multimedia content to support learning and policy influence.
  • Supporting the translation of project findings into accessible, action-oriented knowledge products.

Skills and experience

  • At least 10 years' experience in communications, advocacy, or knowledge translation in GBV, SEAH, or social development sectors.
  • Proven ability to transform technical evidence into accessible, practical materials.
  • Experience designing toolkits, learning resources, or digital campaigns.
  • Familiarity with advocacy in multilateral or international development contexts.
  • Experience working in Nepal or South Asia is highly regarded.
