RoleRange 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Other InformationThis Timetabler / Daily Organiser position aims to complement educational support provision within the College.
As a key member of educational support within the college, you will work in close cooperation with the school leadership team to provide guidance and support in the day-to-day operation of the College, in line with Department of Education policy and procedures.

Position Description
Please note, the 2026 Timetable is already well under way; the college currently uses Edval as it¿s timetable programme.
Daily Organisation
Manage the daily organisation of the college including
- Fair and transparent allocation of replacement classes in line with VGSA
- Maintain accurate records of all extras, leave types and absences including appropriate supporting documentation, to provide live summary of pertinent information to HR Manager
- Coordination of CRTs including liaison with agencies, completion of timesheets, provision of classwork, induction and support of CRTs to work successfully within the college.
- Timely communication of all changes to schedules, rooms and staffing via Compass
- Provision of expert advice as regards current and upcoming organisational needs of the college
- Oversight of Events and Compliance
- Maintain high quality processes to support the planning, approval and execution of college events
- Work with Principal Class to approve events, providing expert advice on staffing ratios, organisational allocation of staffing, and adherence to Department of Education compliance as regards event planning
Support, and where appropriate, train staff to create events that adhere to Department of Education compliance, and risk assessment protocols.
Timetable
Timetable development throughout the school year including:
- Oversight of the development and the ongoing maintenance of the college timetable (semester and academic year) as the expert within the Timetable Team
- Working with Principal Class to respond to the subject delivery needs of the college considering physical logistics, teacher allotments, yard duty roster and synchronisation with Compass
- Working with Principal Class and Sub-School Directors to facilitate the student subject selection process
- All staff employed by the Department and schools have access to a broad range of employment conditions and working arrangements.
- Appointment of successful applicants will be made subject to a satisfactory pre-employment conditions check.
