This is your chance to engage in high-impact projects that contribute directly to the enhancement of Queensland's water systems.

About the Role:

In this senior position, you will manage and execute the structural engineering scope on multi-disciplinary projects of varying complexity and size. Your expertise will be essential in the planning, design, and delivery of innovative water infrastructure projects while fostering a culture of technical excellence within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the structural scope for complex water infrastructure projects, including treatment plants and pump stations.
  • Provide structural engineering input into winning proposals and engage in business development and client relations.
  • Lead the development of innovative solutions through Digital Engineering and BIM-based interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities through client-focused practices and deliver exceptional service.

  • Mentor junior engineers and graduates, sharing your technical expertise to support their professional growth.

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree (Structural or Civil).
  • Typically 10-15 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, with at least 5 years specifically in the water industry.
  • Registration as a RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland).
  • Experience in conducting condition assessments.
  • Strong experience in structural design, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and water-retaining structures compliant with Australian Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to detailed design while contributing to proposal writing and client meetings.
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining client relationships with a focus on high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Experience applying safety in design processes with a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
  • Familiarity with legislation, standards, and project specifications relevant to water infrastructure projects.
  • A desire to lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers to enhance the team's technical capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes preparing clear and concise reports, proposals, and presentations, as well as engaging in productive client interactions and team collaborations.

Note: While we have outlined specific requirements, we encourage applications from candidates who may not tick every box but are passionate about water infrastructure and sustainable solutions. We are committed to supporting professional growth and development.
