An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Programme Director to lead the design, development, and implementation of a world-class Transport Management System (TMS) across a national logistics network. This role is pivotal in transforming parcel and letter delivery operations, ensuring seamless flow through first, middle, and last-mile processes. You'll collaborate with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners to drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, customer experience, and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a transformative TMS programme impacting millions nationwide.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and business benefit realisation.
- Champion stakeholder engagement across internal teams and external industry partners, fostering trust and shared success while navigating complex change management challenges.
- Oversee system implementation by defining scope, allocating resources efficiently, managing timelines, and tracking deliverables to guarantee successful outcomes.
- Partner with finance specialists for capital planning and align programme objectives with annual network plans through robust cost-benefit analysis.
- Develop people-focused change management strategies that foster rapid adoption of new processes while maintaining high levels of safety and wellbeing.
- Negotiate contracts with system integrators and third-party providers to achieve optimal terms while ensuring collaboration between all stakeholders.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years' experience in strategic leadership roles within large-scale logistics or transport environments.
- Proven track record in leading major TMS implementations at senior programme level within complex organisations.
- Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall), resource allocation, budget oversight, and deliverable tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors including software providers, contractors, and integrators.
- Strong commercial acumen enabling you to influence outcomes through persuasive communication skills.
- Advanced capability in leading organisational change initiatives while maintaining focus on benefit realisation (customer experience/safety/financial).
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Engineering or related fields; formal project management qualifications highly regarded.
