About the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to welcome everyone to Arts Centre Melbourne and proactively champion an exceptional customer experience by providing information, tourism, ticketing and retail services to ensure that each customer maximises their time with us and engages in the performing arts.

You will create remarkable customer experiences at a range of events, from rock concerts to symphony orchestras, First Nations dance performances and Comedy Festival shows.

You will greet and guide customers, anticipate needs during events and shows, and deliver personalised, informative and outstanding value for money Public Guided Tours. This is a great opportunity to build upon the experience you've already gained at ACM.

You will be uniquely placed to offer a welcoming experience at the new Australian Museum of Performing Arts (AMPA).   You will provide direction to the daily Gallery Attendant team, seeking support from the Duty Manager where required. You will welcome visitors in a friendly, courteous and professional manner, and assist with their enquiries by providing accurate information regarding museum and gallery services, exhibitions and programs.  You will ensure security of the exhibition objects and supervision of the public within the exhibition, exhibition ticket collection, merchandise sales, and monitor visitor activity to ensure adherence to museum policies and procedures, ensuring areas are safe and operationally effective.

Hours of work may vary, based on AMPA opening hours approx. 10am - 7pm Monday to Sunday, including public holidays. Shift lengths can vary hours.

Your skills and experience 

• Experience in the delivery of proactive customer service that has resulted in successful and enjoyable customer experiences
• Solution focused with the ability to demonstrate leadership skills and actively participate in decision making 
• Experience with handling and balancing a variety of payment methods
• Tessitura experience highly regarded
• Moderate PC skills
• Experience in communicating with and delivering exceptional customer service to visitors from diverse backgrounds

About the team

The Customer Service team is responsible for proactively delivering personalised services of value that create the ultimate experience before, during and after each visit.

The team is comprised of service and support teams for Ticketing, Front of House, Car Park, Stage Door, Welcome Team, Guided Tours and applications that support all of these areas.
