Casual Duty Manager – Recreation & Aquatic Facilities

Shire of Northam

Are you passionate about creating a safe, welcoming and positive recreation environment?

In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operation of the facilities, ensuring high standards of safety, customer service and presentation. You'll support the delivery of programs, oversee patron supervision, respond to emergencies, and assist with kiosk and pool plant operations.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can think on their feet, and takes pride in providing exceptional service to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure facilities are operated safely and in line with WA Health swimming pool regulations and codes of practice.

Provide active supervision, respond to emergencies, and administer First Aid/CPR when required.

Support daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, maintenance checks, kiosk/point of sale tasks and stock control.

Assist with recreational program delivery and strive for continuous improvement of facility operations.

About You:

Pool Lifeguard Certificate

Technical Pool Operator Certificate (or working toward)

LIWA Accreditation (desirable)

First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)

Chemical Handling Certificate

Experience in aquatic or recreation facility operations

Strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills

Current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, and valid Driver's Licence
