Legacy is one of Australia's oldest and most trusted charities. In 1923, Legacy made a promise to help veterans' families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of their loved one. It was a simple promise Legacy keeps today. Providing the same stability, guidance and assistance a partner would normally provide to their family. With a group of dedicated volunteers, known as Legatees, Legacy Brisbane currently supports over 4,045 widow(er)s, 118 people with a disability and 217 Legacy youth.

About the role

Legacy Brisbane is seeking an experienced and motivated Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Fundraising, Marketing & Communications team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Brisbane office.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications, you will play a key role in developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies that strengthen Legacy Brisbane's brand, drive engagement and support our fundraising efforts.

About the Candidate

We are seeking a creative and proactive communicator with experience delivering integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels. The ideal candidate is highly organised, can manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and has experience supporting fundraising initiatives. Experience in the not-for-profit or membership sector is highly regarded

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned to Legacy Brisbane's strategic plan
• Drive brand awareness and integrity through campaigns, publications and digital media
• Plan, manage and grow Legacy's social media presence and digital platforms
• Design and deliver high-quality collateral using Canva, Adobe or similar tools
• Support fundraising campaigns with compelling communications and supporter journeys across multiple channels
• Work closely with internal teams, external providers and PR partners to deliver effective campaigns
• Contribute to the development of Legacy's publications, newsletters, and annual review
• Monitor, evaluate and report on marketing and communications outcomes and budgets

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated success in developing and delivering effective marketing and communications campaigns
• Strong digital, social media and content creation skills
• Experience in designing collateral using Canva
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to obtain and maintain a current Positive Blue Card and Criminal History check

Desirable

• Experience in the not-for-profit, charity or membership sector
• Familiarity with fundraising communications and campaigns
• Experience with using Adobe InDesign or Affinity Publisher
• Experience with CRM systems such as Microsoft 360
• Understanding of the Australian Defence Force and veteran families
