The position is Grade 2 in Council's salary system (from $1,036.70 to $1,161.00 per week plus applicable allowances and 12% superannuation) depending upon qualifications and experience. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. The full-time position is 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.

Position Description

Labourer – Open Space & Recreation – Full-time

Council is seeking applications from hardworking and self-motivated individuals to fill positions within the Open Space & Recreation Department.

The position under the direction of the Open Space & Recreation Supervisor, will provide labouring support to assist in the maintenance and care of all of Council's horticultural and recreational assets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • The applicants should have a general knowledge of construction, maintenance and associated works regarding parks, gardens and sporting facilities.
  • A class C licence, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
  • Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a "Functional Assessment" which includes an Alcohol and Other Drugs screening.

Salary and Conditions

  • The position is Grade 2 in Council's salary system (from $1,036.70 to $1,161.00 per week plus applicable allowances and 12% superannuation) depending upon qualifications and experience.
  • Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
  • The full-time position is 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.
